Beautiful ruby red color. Very expressive on the nose, with a wide range of aromas; red fruits, cardamom, bell pepper, cocoa, a subtle minerality and a certain earthiness. On the palate, it is a full-bodied wine that combines power and elegance, with very good acidity that results in a very fresh wine; high-quality tannins, round and well-balanced. Persistent and with a very long finish.
The name "Cuesta del Herrero", roughly "Blacksmith's Rise", refers to the specific combination of Garnacha, Tempranillo, Merlot, and Cabernet Sauvignon. The vines for the Pago Ayles Cuesta del Herrero Vino de Pago thrive at an altitude of about 700 meters on clay and limestone soils. For the production of the wine, the grapes are hand-harvested and fermented separately on the skins. Winemaker Jorge Navascues attaches great importance to gentle aging in barriques.

Bodegas Aylés - Vino de Pago - Ramon Réula
-
Finca Aylés is located in northeastern Spain, near the city of Zaragoza, halfway between Madrid and Barcelona.
The Ramón Reula family's winemaking project began in the 1980s and culminated in the reunification of several estates that had belonged to Finca Aylés since the Middle Ages. At that time, it became one of the largest private historical estates in Aragon, with more than 3,200 hectares of land and valuable ecological and scenic conditions.
Aylés as such is not just a winery, but a clearly defined area where nature and wine coexist in a very special way.
Aylés is more than just a winery and a vineyard: It is a clearly defined area where nature and wine have lived in harmony for centuries.
It is an impressive landscape full of contrasts, which includes the Huerva River, carving out spectacular channels and ravines before the immovable presence of Monte San Pablo. This landscape is blessed with clay, limestone, and chalk soils, deep caves, and underground rivers, to which the vineyards lend a true symphony of life and color.
Aware of the importance of environmental protection, we currently practice organic and sustainable cultivation in all our vineyards and have been certified as organic wine since the 2020 vintage.
Undoubtedly, it is a genuine Pago – single vineyard, domaine, or cru – with its own very special characteristics that distinguish it from its surroundings, and which boasts such rich fauna that the European Union has included it in its Natura 2000 network as a Special Protection Area for birds. -
